CC -!- FUNCTION: Component of the Mediator complex, a coactivator
CC involved in the regulated transcription of nearly all RNA
CC polymerase II-dependent genes. Mediator functions as a bridge to
CC convey information from gene-specific regulatory proteins to the
CC basal RNA polymerase II transcription machinery. The Mediator
CC complex, having a compact conformation in its free form, is
CC recruited to promoters by direct interactions with regulatory
CC proteins and serves for the assembly of a functional pre-
CC initiation complex with RNA polymerase II and the general
CC transcription factors (PubMed:22021418, PubMed:24451981). Involved
CC in the regulation of histone H3 lysine tri-methylation (H3K36me3).
CC Associates with the promoter, coding and terminator regions of
CC target genes suggesting its function in transcription initiation,
CC elongation and termination. Multifunctional protein which
CC regulates plant immunity, especially during necrotrophic fungal
CC infection (e.g. B.cinerea and A.brassicicola), flowering time and
CC responses to hormones (e.g. abscisic acid ABA and ethylene)
CC through interactions with distinct transcription factors
CC       (PubMed:24451981). {ECO:0000269|PubMed:22021418,
CC       ECO:0000269|PubMed:24451981}.
CC -!- SUBUNIT: Component of the Mediator complex (PubMed:17560376).
CC Interacts with YY1 to suppress disease susceptibility via the
CC repression of genes glutaredoxins GRX480, GRXS13 and thioredoxin
CC       TRX-h5. Binds to ABI4 to regulate abscisic acid responses;
CC recruited by ABI4 to ABI5 promoter in the presence of abscisic
CC       acid (ABA). Interacts with SUF4 to regulate flowering time;
CC recruited by SUF4 to FLC promoter (PubMed:24451981).
CC       {ECO:0000269|PubMed:17560376, ECO:0000269|PubMed:24451981}.
CC -!- SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Nucleus {ECO:0000269|PubMed:24451981}.
CC -!- DISRUPTION PHENOTYPE: Deregulated expression of glutaredoxins
CC GRX480, GRXS13 and thioredoxin TRX-h5 leading to enhanced
CC susceptibility to fungal infection (e.g. B.cinerea and
CC A.brassicicola). Altered RNA polymerase II occupancy and histone
CC H3 lysine tri-methylation (H3K36me3) of target genes.
CC Insensitivity to abscisic acid (ABA) and to the ethylene precursor
CC 1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylic acid (ACC). Delayed flowering.
CC       {ECO:0000269|PubMed:24451981}.
CC -!- SIMILARITY: Belongs to the Mediator complex subunit 18 family.
CC       {ECO:0000305}.
